Claritus was entrusted with the task of designing a GPS based mobile tracking solution based on the ‘Trap to Plate’ concept for the client that would help them ensure transparency and sustainability and thereby win the confidence of their global customer base.

The Solution

  • Developed a comprehensive & fool-proof GPS-based tracking solution for mobile platforms.
  • Implemented the ‘Trap to Plate’ concept enabling end users to track every portion of crab meat sold globally to its exact point of catch in the APAC region.
  • Built a QR-based mobile solution for traceability.
  • Highlighted catch location in the APAC region due to its far superior quality from the end users’ perspective.
  • Optimized solution for web and mobile (iOS and Android) platforms.
  • Hosted application on AWS cloud servers.
  • Developed front-end application using PHP-Yii framework.
  • User REST controller:
    • Integrated with tracking device to retrieve location and store in location database.
    • Integrated mobile app with web application.
  • Built service layer to implement business rules and validation.
  • Used RDS (MySQL) as the primary database.
  • MS SQL Server used to store location database.
  • Integrated Google Maps APIs to show location and route over map.
  • Used Amazon SNS to send push notifications to Android and iPhone apps.
  • Created scheduled jobs to verify data on predefined intervals and applied business logic.
  • Followed Waterfall methodology for application development.
  • Implemented Continuous Integration with Jenkins ensuring builds were deployed only after passing all tests.
  • Used Selenium for automation testing of web applications.
  • Used Appium for automation testing of mobile applications.
